Poppy Appeal 2014
Sincere thanks to everyone in Chipperfield for their huge generosity in raising a record amount of £9793.58 for The Royal British Legion’s Poppy Appeal. The enthusiasm of the house-to-house collectors, and their resolve to knock on every door, raised an amazing amount of £3348.46. The pubs, shops and garden centres raised £459.13 during the year and a further £1433.22 at Remembrance time. The production of ‘Our Village at War’ added £3056.52. All the costs of the production were met by an anonymous supporter and props were lent by Chipperfield Theatre Group and Tring School; a very big thank you is owed to you all. Sales of Mary and her son Andrew’s books made £597. The Service of Remembrance in St Paul’s Church raised £405.25. Finally, completion of Gift Aid forms will produce £494.
Thanks also to Mark Jarrad for his continued help in the count and for ensuring that not one rogue euro made it to the bank!
