Fireworks Display

1st of December 2014

For the third year running, the Cricket Club hosted the village Fireworks Display on the common. We were blessed again with mild and dry conditions which helped to make the event a huge success.

The pyrotechnics were expertly choreographed by Whizzbang of Kings Langley. The show was bigger and better than ever this year and we are most grateful again to the anonymous sponsor of the display.

Prior to the fireworks, we enjoyed the atmospheric glow of a hot air balloon, a wide array of food offerings, bars, rides and stalls.

After the display, we were treated to another live rock extravaganza by Chipperfield band Two and a Half Titans who rocked on until late for the older ones in the crowd.

As always, a huge amount of time, effort and money was put in by volunteers to ensure that this event is successful and safe for all.

We would like to thank the following in particular:
St Paul’s Church for the use of their facilities and equipment.
Friends of St Paul’s school for running the outside bar.
Churchills of Bovingdon for running the BBQ.
Wilsons of Bovingdon for their Hot Air Balloon demonstration.
The Chipperfield Project Group for assistance with Car Parking.
St John’s Ambulance for First Aid cover.
Chipperfield Parish Council and Dacorum Council for their support.
All the stallholders who came along and made it a great evening.
The Members of the Cricket Club who gave their time.
A bucket collection was made on behalf of the Cricket Club to help cover costs and this raised £1678. Thank you to all those who gave generously.
