Chipperfield Commemorates Two World Wars

1st of November 2014

Friday 7 and Saturday 8 November at 7.45pm in The Village Hall

A local group is mounting an informal dramatization of Chipperfield’s story from 1914 to 1945 covering both world wars in which a large number of men from the village played their part and many died, and the uneasy inter war period. It is written by John Uff and directed by Lisa Callcut who were jointly responsible for the World War One play performed in the village in 2008. This sequel follows the effect on the villagers of World War Two with the blitz, shortages and threat of invasion, as well as its lighter side. Much of the factual material comes once again from research by local archivists Mary, and her son Andrew, Nobbs, and it promises to be a thought provoking but entertaining evening.

Tickets: £12 Contact: 01923 267515.
All proceeds to The Royal British Legion which continues to care for those still affected by the two world wars and subsequent conflicts.
