Spring Show
Saturday 22 March 2.30pm
The Village Hall
The Spring Show is our first show of the year and at the moment the weather is so wet and windy the flower beds are sodden. But hopefully the weather will have improved long before the Show takes place. We have classes for all our spring flowers and shrubs: vegetables have their own section as does the handicraft. Floral Art has three classes and the domestic section has seven classes. Photography has its own section with classes entitled ‘Tomorrows World’, ‘New Shoots’ and ‘Gates’. Maximum size is 7” x 5” and may be mounted but not framed. This year we have divided the Junior classes into three age groups, 3-6, 7-10, 11-16. Each age group has two classes. To ‘Decorate a Rich Tea Biscuit’ and to ‘Decorate a Mustard and Cress Egg Head’ After the judging has taken place, the doors open at 2.30pm when we will be serving delicious homemade cream teas. The prize giving takes place at about 3.30pm and is followed by an auction and the raffle. We will be having a plant stall, so any surplus plants or seedlings that you may have would be very welcome. Entries may be handed in at Garden Scene Garden Centre in Chipperfield or emailed to by noon on Thursday 20 March. Regretfully, no late entries can be accepted. A report of the society’s AGM is on page 12
