Houses of Parliament
At the beginning of October Year 6 entered Dacorum Borough Council’s competition to design a poster for democracy week. All entries were sent off to the council but in the end there were only two lucky winners: Miss Amy Stewart and Miss Jessica Swales. So on 13 October the two winners set off for the Houses of Parliament as their prize. Jessica and Amy both met the MP Mike Penning and his colleague David Gauke. They both had a fantastic time and said, “It was one of the best experiences of our lives!”

The theme at St Paul’s since the beginning of the new school year has been respect. Year 6 produced a sharing assembly all about the topic and we talked about respect to and from the whole school community: teachers, teaching assistants, dinner ladies, cooks, pupils and parents. We are all focusing on being respectful to everybody.
Our value for the second half of this term is appreciation, particularly in the lead up to Christmas!

In October we had our Harvest Festival in church. Children brought in produce to give to people who are not as fortunate as us. Some was given to a shelter in Dacorum and Year 6 delivered the fresh food around the village. We also gave fresh produce that we have grown in our own school garden: potatoes, pumpkins, sweetcorn, blueberries, lettuce, mints, peas, courgettes, runner beans, tomatoes, chives, strawberries, carrots, sunflowers and peppers.
