St Paul’s Summer Concert

2nd of July 2009

We shall be offering a concert, unusually choir-free, of some of the most charming music ever written. This will include the variations from the “Trout” Quintet by Schubert with guest pianist Peter Wild, and the much loved movement for strings by Borodin that featured in the popular musical “Kismet”.
Mezzo soprano Hyacinth Nichols will return to Chipperfield to sing for us some of the most famous and popular music from the world of Musical Theatre and Opera.
Keith Beniston will be at the newly restored organ and will play “March on a Theme of Handel” by Gulimant based on “Lift up your heads” from Messiah.
Although entrance to our concerts is always free, voluntary contributions will be welcomed.
There will be a glass of wine in the Parish Room after the concert.
Our main choral concert this year will be on Sunday 27 September and will celebrate Mendelssohn’s 200th birthday with a performance of his fabulous “Hymn of Praise”.
