1st Chipperfield Brownies

2nd of May 2009

We have welcomed four Brownies this term. The girls have enjoyed various activities including a four week first aid course run by the British Red Cross. The Brownies worked extremely hard to gain their First Aid and First Aid Advanced badges. Well done, everyone.
We joined the rest of Kings Langley District including Rainbows and Guides to enjoy a Thinking Day celebration at Bedmond School. The girls ‘visited’ different countries to do craft activities and sample various foods.
The main event of the term was the Brownie Pack Holiday – the biggest Brownie adventure. Eight Brownies from 1st Chipperfield and four Brownies from 1st Kings Langley eagerly set off to “Teddies House’ Gaddesden Row. The girls had many crafts to do from jewellery making to hand puppets to Easter bonnets and much more! We had an Easter egg hunt, a treasure trail, a talent show and also found time to watch a film! As well as all the fun and games the girls gained their Cooks and Home Skills badges. The holiday ended with a presentation to all the girls and the Pack Holiday Super Brownie was awarded to Mia from 1st Kings Langley Brownies. Well done.
The girls were a joy to take on holiday; all getting along so well together and making new friends. A really wonderful long weekend. I’m looking forward to the next one!
My Pack is full at the moment but if you would like to put your daughter’s name on the waiting list, the starting age is seven. It is never too early. Please contact Sian Roberts on 07982 610775 or e-mail
If you are interested in giving some time to Girlguiding UK and would like a really rewarding experience in working with girls aged 5-14, please contact Jean Banks on 01923 400370. Thank you. Sian Roberts, Brown Owl
