I lived at Kings Langley between 1937-1946 and, when I could ride a bike(circa 1944) my mother took me to the Apostles Pond, where I caught tadpoles and water snails. I also remember the common. I also liked the woodland in the area. Roads were safe in those days with little traffic except the odd bus or lorry. It was more usual to see loads of cycles, especially on a Sunday.
