Application No. 04/00518/07/FHA Ground & first floor rear extension & single storey front extension

Location Chipperfield Cottage, Chapel Croft, Chipperfield

Recommendation Chipperfield Parish Council supports this application

This is a modest rear extension tot his newly modified cottage and the porch will also be in keeping with those approved for the adjacent cottages.

Application No. 04/00529/07/FHA Single Storey front extension, first floor side extension (Amended)

Location Christmas Cottage, 96 Scatterdells Lane, Chipperfield

Recommendation Chipperfield Parish Council supports this application

As you are aware we raised no objection to the previous application and are happy that the reduction in size to the glazed garden room from two floors to one and the resulting elevation appears to address any queries raised by DBC.

Application No. 04/00561/07/FHA Single storey rear extension, remove conservatory & outbuilding internal & external alterations (amended)

Location Manor Farm Cottage, The Common, Chipperfield

Recommendation Chipperfield Parish Council supports this application

As you are aware we raised no objection to the previous application and feel that the proposed amendments, which revert to the approved plans from 2004, for lower dormers and replacing the conservatory with a breakfast & utility room extension. Although this cottage has been previously extended we are happy that the small increase in size of this proposal is not very different from that already approved.

Application No. 04/01860/05/LDP Single storey extensions

Location Woodman’s Farm, Dunny Lane, Chipperfield

Recommendation

Chipperfield Parish Council has strong reservations about this application for a Lawful Development Certificate:

Whilst we understand this decision is a matter for Dacorum Borough Council we would like to add the following comments:-

- The size of the development completely swamps the existing converted barn in what is in effect a complete reconstruction.

- The new facilities and car parking space suggest that the new premises will be used for purposes outside normal family use.

Application No.04/00593/07/FHA Single storey side extension

Location Ryvoan, Chapel Croft, Chipperfield

Recommendation Chipperfield Parish Council supports this application

The replacement of a dilapidated garage by an extended study is a planning gain in that:-

1) The new development has a slightly smaller footprint

2) It replaces a flat roof with a pitched one

3) Its appearance matches the existing buildings' front elevation

Application No.04/00717/07/FHA: Replacement conservatory

Location 11 Tower Hill, Chipperfield

Recommendation Chipperfield Parish Council opposes this application

Although the plans are very sketchy, it is clear this property has already been extensively enlarged with rear and side extension together with rooms in the roof and a small conservatory. Doubling the size of the conservatory will take the increase in size further over the 30% limit and also present an unacceptably long northern elevation close to the boundary of the neighbouring un-extended property
