I understand that the events planned for Chipperfield Common have now been cancelled because health & safety and other ‘obstructions’ made it too much trouble for the participants to ‘visit’ Chipperfield. Instead they are going to Sarratt and then Micklefield. Is this true? If so it’s a pity that the Chipperfield and Sarratt village day will miss out Chipperfield and perhaps the parish council need to review why this has happened and what needs to be done in the future to encourage these events rather than get in their way.

although leaving Chipperfield in 1970,we often return and were involved in the first village day ever held.Health and safety go too far in spoiling every ones fun times .HAS there every been any recorded mishaps on these days???

When we first moved to Chipperfield we thought how great it was that the common was put to good use on village day. But it seems that the kill joys have won again and Chipperfiled is the looser once again. Does no one care that this village is becoming just a place to get through as fast as possible. Even the bus R19 from Kings Langley early mornings & evenings does not even bother to come to the village but turns round in Kings Langley and goes back to Watford.

It is about time we took control and went back to how village life should be.Health and safety issues have now become so ridiculous its high time we all got together to fight this nonsense.

Hi all, just to let you all know, there will be a HOT AIR BALLOON AND CLASSIC CARS ON cHIPPERFIELD COMMON ON SATURDAY 22ND MAY PART OF THE VILLAGE DAY. THE TIMES ARE FROM 9.00AM TILL 12.00PM. FOLLOWED BY THE MAIN EVENT AT MICKLEFIELD HALL FROM 12.00 TILL 18.00. SO PLEASE ALL COME IT WILL BE A GREAT DAY AND ALSO GET MUCH NEEDED MONEY FOR THE SCHOOLS AND BOTH CHURCHES

I WOULD LIKE TO SAY THAT THE PARISH COUNCIL SPENT A LOT OF TIME WORKING WITH THE VILLAGE DAY COMMITTEE AND ALL WANTED THE VILLAGE DAY TO GO ON. WITHOUT THERE HELP IN MEETINGS, THE EVENTS WOULD NOT GO AHEAD.
