The Society aims to promote the cultivation of gardens and allotments. Each year three shows are held in the Village Hall. The Society has trestle tables for hire at £2 per table. Annual membership is £2.00.

FORTHCOMING EVENTS FOR 2012

Wednesday 25 April

FERGUS GARRETT – GREAT DIXTER

Great Dixter in Northiam, East Sussex, was the home of the famous plantsman and garden writer Christopher Lloyd. His father commissioned Lutyens who designed the garden as a series of rooms which lie around the house. Fergus Garrett worked with Christopher Lloyd for 15 years before the latter died in 2006 when Fergus took over the garden completely.

Fergus teaches students to develop and promote freedom of expression in the garden. He is renowned in the gardening world and is in great demand as a speaker.

This talk will be held in the Parish Room at 7.30 pm,

followed by questions, plant sale and coffee

Admission by ticket: Society Members £8, others £10

 

Talks and demonstrations by Maria Coote RHS Dip. and lecturer in Horticulture at Capel Manor, Enfield.

TUESDAY 3rd April – Composting

MONDAY 2nd July – Weeds and their control

Free to members, £2.00 on the door to non-members
