All Change On The Buses

1st of July 2014

There have been some changes recently to the buses serving the village:-
R4 service from Chandlers Cross to Rickmansworth and Chorleywood via the Tesco supermarket has now been cut to two per week on Wednesdays and Thursdays, leaving The Two Brewers at 09.37. Please note that the new timetables at both The Brewers and Dunny Lane are incorrect, not very helpful!

352 services are now running 15 minutes later in both directions on most services and there is now an additional early service to Hemel Hempstead leaving The Two Brewers at 09.02 – note that this does not stop at Dunny Lane.

319 service to Sainsbury’s and Asda (Monday, Wednesday and Friday) and 51 to Hemel Hempstead via Flaunden remain unchanged.

These services may be infrequent but they are very reliable with friendly drivers. Karol, the regular driver on the Red Eagle 319 and 51 services, being particularly outstanding, giving assistance to those with mobility difficulties, helping with carrying shopping on to the bus and seeing passengers across the road if and when required.

Apart from being useful for shopping, they also give an excellent opportunity for exploring the local countryside – for example, you can take the 51 to Flaunden Village Hall or the 319 to Hunton Bridge and walk back to Chipperfield across the fields or, if you are feeling a bit fitter, try the R4 to Rickmansworth and come back along the Chess Valley and home via Sarratt.

We need to use these buses or we will lose them.
