A Small School With Big Achievements

1st of June 2014

St Paul’s School has had a record breaking year full of achievements in netball.
First of all our teacher, Mrs Smith, entered us in several competitions. The traditional 7 a-side league, in which we played home and away games against other schools in our pool. We were placed with Bovingdon, Holtsmere End and Leverstock Green. We won ALL our games both home and away. These results meant we won our league.
We were also entered into the High 5 Dacorum league (which included boys and girls) and took place in Hemel Sportspace during January and February this year. Both our A and B teams got into the final stages of the competition and our A team won the event against Chaulden school and our B team came in 3rd place.

Last Friday was the 7 a-side Dacorum tournament to decide the Dacorum district champions. In terrible, rainy conditions both our A and B teams got through to the final stages again and our A team played in the final against Bridgewater school. It was very tense as we had beaten them in a friendly and they had beaten us earlier that day. St Paul’s played extremely well and won the game 4-1 to take home the District shield and be district champions! We have also played friendly games against Royal Masonic school and Berkhamsted Girls school and won both close fought games.

Overall, the whole team would love to give a humungous, ginormous thank you to Mrs Smith and Jo O’Sullivan for being so keen on our netball and without them we would not have had these super results and this record breaking year for our small school!
