St Paul’s Choir – Wouldn’t It Be Luverly?

1st of March 2014

When St Paul’s choir ventured beyond the church walls a few years ago to put on a concert performance of HMS Pinafore in the barn at the Manor House, it was popular and well received. Rory and Alex Tapner have now very kindly invited us back once again.
This time we are going for a concert version of My Fair Lady and, because of anticipated popular demand, we are going to offer two performances, one each on the Saturday and Sunday, 12 and 13 July.

We hope to include the vast majority of the music and dialogue, though falling slightly short of a fully staged version. Most of the main parts will be taken by those with considerable professional acting and singing experience. The core of the chorus will be St Paul’s choir, though we will again be inviting others to join us on a one-off basis. However, space will be a limiting factor in deciding how many people can take part. There will be just a few rehearsals as all the songs are pretty well known. These will be at 7.45pm in St Paul’s Parish Room on the preceding five Friday evenings, starting on 13 June. If you are interested in taking part and would like to know more details, please e-mail Anne King. Simply send your name and email address to You will then receive all subsequent information about taking part.

Audience admission will be by ticket and arrangements for obtaining these will be published in next month’s Chipperfield News along with more information about the occasion. Ticket prices will be set with the aim of covering costs, and any surplus will go to St Paul’s church. For now, whether you would like to take part or to simply attend a performance, please make an early note of the relevant dates.
