Chipperfield Horticultural Society – Final Show Of The Year

1st of September 2013

Saturday 21 September in the Village Hall
This show gives our exhibitors the chance to show the result of all their hard work in the garden as well as their handicraft with items that have been made throughout the year.

Floral Art has three classes as usual. An exhibit depicting Autumn Glory and another depicting A Hint of Frost as well as an arrangement of foliage. Photography has its three classes, Vintage – Light and Dark – Blooming. All pictures to be no larger than 7” x 5” and may be mounted but not framed.

Domestic classes are numerous and range from a gingerbread loaf to a bottle of wine!

Handicraft has ten classes including paintings, pottery, jewellery, woodwork and a class for anything else that does not fall into specified classes.

The Juniors have two age groups: up to 10 years and 11 to 16 years. Each age group have the same two categories, An imaginary animal made from fruit/vegetables and A bookmark. These items must be the exhibitor’s own unaided work; school work may be entered.

Novelty classes remain the same: A misshapen vegetable, A misshapen fruit, The longest runner bean. Most of the classes in this show are devoted to vegetables, fruit and flowers. So do come and admire all these exhibits. The doors open at 2.30pm after the judging has taken place, so time to enjoy a home made cream tea before the prize giving at 3.30pm which is followed by an auction of produce and a raffle. There is so much to enjoy at our shows, whether you are an exhibitor or not, so we hope to see you there.
