The Village Hall Committee is pleased to report that this year’s Quiz Night maintained the successful format of previous events. Always a well supported evening, ninety two residents and guests attended and our thanks extend to David Collette, our quiz master. His questions were puzzling, intriguing, interesting and, ultimately, solvable. All thanks to those who helped with the organisation and particularly to those who assisted in the catering which presented a challenge to feed so many. I am delighted to report that the event raised £850 which will be expended towards the upkeep of the hall which is such an important asset for the village. Our next event is the ever popular Barn Dance in 2012.  Do come and support this; the date is to be announced. It is always enormous fun.

Finally, at some point during the evening the writer’s favourite oven gloves went AWOL and he much looks forward to their return in order to maintain cordial marital relations in Clifford Towers.
