Ian Rennie Hospice

1st of November 2011

Newly merged charity Iain Rennie Grove House Hospice Care (IRGH) is calling on local communities to support its festive fundraising to help give patients facing life-limiting illness across Herts and Bucks the choice to be cared for at home surrounded by friends and family over Christmas, New Year and beyond. They are asking people to support a number of initiatives:
Light Up a Life services across Herts and Bucks offer local people the opportunity to take a short while out from the build up to Christmas to remember a friend or family member who is no longer with us. By making a donation to the charity, you can dedicate one or more lights on any of the charity’s commemorative Christmas trees to a loved one.
Festive fun runs Fast-moving Santas will be taking centre stage in High Wycombe and St Albans at special sponsored runs in December.
Letter from Santa The Reindeer Runs are especially suitable for young children, and they thoroughly enjoy getting involved, but there is nothing more special for them at Christmas than to receive a letter from Santa himself.
Christmas cards and virtual gifts. Once again a stunning range of Christmas cards will be available to buy, kindly sponsored this year by local companies.
Every penny raised in IRGH’s festive fundraising events will help them provide much needed support services for patients and their families over the Christmas period. During the 12 days of Christmas, IRGH will be providing more than 1,000 nursing hours and around 50 hours of bereavement support in a service that is greatly valued and appreciated by many local families.
