St Paul’s School
General News
Last week it was Arts week and it was a huge success! St Paul’s had so many activities including Zumba Dancing; each class had a dance from another culture and then, in the afternoon, performed it in assembly to the rest of the school. There was also African
drumming, and again years 5 and 6 performed it in assembly. Unfortunately, one activity could not be done because the instructor had hurt her ankle, and that was Street Dancing. But it really did not matter because all the other activities made up for it because they were so much fun! There was also an award given to us recently for ‘Gold Travel Plan’. Lastly, year 6 have been told what parts they are to play in the
school play this summer. The school play is the Wizard of Oz and is going to be played so well that you will not want to miss it.
This will be the last time Year 6 is doing the newspaper.

Sports
This month we have got our KS1 and KS2 sports day and we are all looking forward to competing for house title of winner. The KS1 sports day will take place on Wednesday 29 June. It will take place in the morning and year six will be helping!
Mrs Smith has also had the hard job of picking a hockey team to compete in a tournament with lots and lots of other schools so we will make sure you get the update on the scores soon.

Poem
I remember
In September
When we first started school
Nursery and Reception
Every moment in caption
We always used to play ball
In year one
Our teacher Mrs Dunne
Her favourite lesson was art
In year two
Our brains went a stew
Our testing S.A.T’s a start
In year three
We got to see
Our teacher Mrs Stray
In year four
Kingswood at the door
Mrs Smith another year to stay
In year five
We had to survive
Learning how to tie die
Our last year here
It was sincere
As we waved goodbye.

Sports Stars
This is the last month that I am able to do this column so, because it was my idea, it will probably be the last sports stars.
Mrs Smith has chosen Louis Curd for Sports Stars for really putting his all into all the sports club he has done.
Mr Fanshaw has picked Lucy Olley because she has been a really good allrounder this month!
