It is a sad time for many loyal customers. John and Andreas retired at the New Year after some 37 years of hairdressing in Kings Langley. They were known to many in our village and were loyal supporters of Chipperfield News for many years, until they knew they were to move on.
John and Andreas grew up playing and learning together at primary school in the village of Morphou in Cyprus. The two friends started their business in Kings Langley in 1973 during the power cuts and coal miners’ strikes.
Both have many happy memories of cutting hair for mums, daughters, granddaughters and great granddaughters. Their favourite phrase is, “Don’t go until we go”! But they are going, to give more time to their families which include six children and six grandchildren between them. They thank you all for your loyalty and custom over the years. They wish you the very best for the future and long hair for the New Year! The hairdressing salon is to be replaced by another business, so John and Andreas say, “Do not forget Sarah and Christine” who have been with them for some six years and will move to pastures new, nearby. Keep an eye out for the girls, even ‘Sarah and Christine’ in the future.
