The Poppy Appeal

1st of November 2010

The Royal British Legion provides financial, social and emotional support to the millions who have served, and are currently serving, in all of our Armed Forces and their dependants. Founded nearly 90 years ago in the aftermath of the Great War, the Legion is the leading charity safeguarding the welfare, interests and memory of all those who have served.
The Poppy Appeal raises the funds the Legion needs to carry out its welfare and benevolent work. Millions of poppies, made by disabled ex-service men and women at the Poppy Factory, are produced every year to enable us to show that we wish to remember all the service men and women who have fought for the peace and freedom we enjoy.
Please continue your generous support when the Poppy Appeal collectors knock on your door in the next day or so. And please join us on Remembrance Sunday, 14 November, at the War Memorial which, thanks to a very generous grant from the Parish Council, has been completely refurbished.
