Chipperfield Evening Wi

1st of March 2010

Peter Berners-Price gave a talk about the Cure Parkinson Trust.  This charity was started ten years ago by local resident Sir Richard Nichols and others and is known locally as ‘Movers and Shakers’. Tom Isaacs, who has Parkinsons, walked the coast of Britain to increase awareness and to raise money for the charity which seeks a cure for Parkinsons Disease and funds research.  Peter has become involved during the past four years and now spends most of his time supporting fund raising events. At the close of his talk a cheque for £600 was presented to Peter, being monies raised by the Friends of Chipperfield Evening WI during 2009.

Liz Holliday always regretted that when we planted the daffodils along the church wall for the millennium we didn’t have enough to complete the wall. As there was money now available, it seemed appropriate to spend some in completing the planting in her memory. On a dreary December morning last year a group of Evening WI members and helpers spent a busy morning planting bulbs along the wall opposite Blackwell’s.

I think it’s lovely that you’ve planted the bulbs in Liz’s memory.
