The Village Hall celebrated a splendid Centenary Year in 2009, with a varied programme of events.
We started with our annual Barn Dance in February, organised by Anne Stickland. This was followed by a weekend Exhibition, depicting “Our Village Through The Ages”, supported with artefacts from Dacorum Heritage Museum, and organised by Mary and Andrew Nobbs. In the early autumn, Peter Corbett presented a Variety Show, involving a cross section of local organisations who regularly use the village hall, and in which Peter Williams acted as MC for the evening. Finally, we enjoyed a Quiz Night in November, organised by Hugh Clifford, with David Collette as Quiz Master and MC. These events recorded the diversity of contributions and talents within our village community, which both artistes and audiences thoroughly enjoyed.
My thanks to one and all for their contributions and support, which made this a very memorable yea.
