If you have to collapse, the place to be is in Watford Hospital.
Fr. Terry was visiting a sick parishioner when his heart failed. Such a blessing as normally he would have been on his own in the Presbytery. As it was, a series of tests, a transfer to a London Hospital and a quadruple by-pass, have returned our priest to Chipperfield – “well but not yet in harness”.
Fr. Terry’s sister came to look after him for his first weeks at home, while Fr. Bernard has been holding the fort at weekends, saying Mass for us.
Fr. Terry thanks everyone for their concern, prayers and good wishes.
“Singing from the same Hymn-sheet” is a phrase of literal importance as our six local churches look forward to the “Woman’s World Day of Prayer” in March. Our real pleasure in sharing not only with our local churches but with women all round the world has a musical difficulty. It’s always the Catholics who ask of we can go over the hymn tune, seemingly well known to everyone else, for a second time. Perhaps we need an ecumenical hymn service occasionally to tune us in. Come and see if you can join the singing.
