Jack was my best mate in the army, we met on the train going to start our national service in 1952 and shared the good times and not so good together. Our training sergeant nick-named us "Gilbert & Sullivan" the first day, and that stayed with us for two years, Jack would say, "You always talk us into trouble, and i'll try and talk us out of it." It seemed to some we were joined at the hip, as were ever Gilbert was, Sullivan was not far away,we watched each others backs and I trusted Jack with my life. Some of the things we got up to then makes me wonder how we got away with. A truely wonderful man and one day we will be "Gilbert and Sullivan" again. of that I am sure. Rest easy pal.
