Calling Over 60’s To Walk

1st of February 2010 - comments

Our successful and happy Over 60’s Walking Group is dwindling in numbers due to various ailments and, dare I say it, ‘old age’. Our oldest person to retire was just 83, so we must be doing something right, apart from proving that walking if done regularly is good for you to enjoy a healthy mind and body. This means we have a few vacancies for people who wish to join a happy group of independent, friendly, country-loving walkers, who enjoy the security of all walking together come rain or shine. You need to be in good health and capable of keeping up, for we consider these to be health walks where you are also able to enjoy the richness of our lovely countryside and areas of outstanding natural beauty.
Our regular walks start from a pub where you can leave your car and return to find it safe, know there is a loo available, then enjoy a meal to continue chatting. We make regular walks every 3 weeks through the villages and countryside, starting at 10.15am from a nominated pub, and our Walk Leader will lead the way over a 4 mile route on a country walk which takes about 2 hours.
If you would like to join us, please telephone Norman Joyce for further information (tel: 01923 446960) or email: enjoy20@ntlworld.com
