John Wilson began his talk on the Japanese culture by getting us to stand and greet our neighbour in Japanese with hands together and a small bow. He explained the differences between ‘us’ and ‘them’ very clearly and showed us some lovely slides of Osaka and Kyoto in springtime. We did enjoy his talk very much.
With the help of slides Mr Vic Botterill addressed the meeting in an amusing fashion, illustrating the different approaches and responses made by males and females. He explained how signals can be given and interpreted by eye contact and smiling and how body language can reveal when a person is not telling the truth.
