The Afternoon WI went to Morton-in-Marsh’s market day for our annual outing. The coach trip there and back was lovely and there were bargains to be had on the stalls.

Our speaker in September, Dr Brenda Harold, gave us an interesting insight to ‘The New Genetics’. She was good – no one went to sleep!

Mrs Barbara Young spoke to the Evening WI on the life and work of Van Gogh, dispelling many of the myths surrounding his behaviour. Van Gogh did suffer from bipolar disorder which caused him great personal and mental problems. He was 30 years of age when he took up painting, having struggled against his strict Calvinistic upbringing during his earlier years.

Both Institutes will be holding their Annual Meetings this month: Afternoon WI on Tuesday 17 November at 2.15pm in the Village Hall; Evening WI on Wednesday 18 November at 7.30pm in the Small Hall.
