Local Open Studios In September

The Hertfordshire Visual Arts Forum Open Studios annual event takes place during September.The sculptor Dick Onians and the painter Graham Boyd are two local artists who will make their studios open to visitors. The informal and relaxed contact between artists and visitors has in the past proved to be mutually stimulating and provides an unusual opportunity to see the working environment of two creative individuals.

Dick Onians, Woodside, Commonwood. Entrance down drive next to the Cart and Horses car park. Wood, stone, metal and resin sculptures, mostly abstract, for house and garden. Open Sat 12, Sun 13, Thurs 17, Fri 18, Sat 19 and Sun 20 from 12 noon-5pm.

Graham Boyd, Blackapple, 54 Scatterdells Lane. Acrylics ranging from small to large, in which collage and direct painting are combined in the exploration of colour.
Open Sat 12, Sun 13, Fri 18, Sat 19 and Sun 20 from 2pm-6pm.

Other local artists include:
John Keane, 6 Gallows Hill Lane, Abbots Langley. Traditional leaded stained glass to contemporary kiln-formed fused glass. Original painted and sandblasted glass. Striking dichroic glass jewellry.
Sat 19, Sun 20, Sat 26 and Sun 27 from 10am-5pm.

Doreen Meek, 90 Tibbshill Road, Abbots Langley. Painting, exploring colour & texture in different styles and media, inspired by the world around and the changing seasons.
Sat 19, Tues 22, Sat 26 and Tues 29 from 10am-4pm.

Kathy Foster and Joy Thomson will be exhibiting paintings and drawings
at the Watersmeet Theatre, Rickmansworth.
