On March 11, Chipperfield Care held its AGM in the Village Hall. Thirty six volunteers heard the Chairman, Lady Shelagh Nichols, welcome them to the meeting. The minutes of the 2008 AGM were read by the Secretary, Sue Ellis. The Organiser, Ann Soanes, reported that calls during the past twelve months had increased and the majority were for transport to hospitals as well as surgeries, opticians and hairdressers. This year our tea party will be held in the Village Hall on Wednesday 17 June. Vic Archer, our Treasurer, gave his report and the Management Committee were then elected.
Two members retired, Mary West and Lucy Williams, both of whom have worked tirelessly and will be very much missed. Two new members were elected, Peter Moorhouse and Valerie Briselden. Benny Michel suggested we could visit people in their homes, so if you know of anyone who would like company please let me know. Many thanks were given to all our volunteers.
