SPRING SHOW SATURDAY 21 MARCH

Our Spring show has classes for all our wonderful Spring flowers and plants, come and enter your favourites, grown either indoors or outside. All vegetables have their classes from cabbages to rhubarb. Handicraft has a wealth of classes, where you can show your best creations, be it painting, knitting, embroidery, canvaswork, woodwork or soft furnishing. We have such a lot of talent in our village. The floral art section has 3 classes. One exhibit depicting St Patricks Day, another depicting A Candle Arrangement and the third a basket arrangement of Spring flowers and shrubs. Our photography classes are: Sleep; Garden Tools; Daffodils; print size to be a maximum of 7″ x 5″ and may be mounted but not framed.Domestic section includes classes for a jar of marmalade, savoury pastie, a jar of chutney, a Madeira cake, jam tarts and a hand made loaf of bread. The junior section includes making a Mothers Day card, a Spring poem and articles of handicraft; once again we have two age groups, up to 10 years and 11-16 years. Come and enter, there is a Junior Trophy with a £10 W.H. Smith voucher at the end of the year for the junior gaining most points in all our 3 shows. School work may be entered. There really is something for you all, whether you carve wood, knit, make cakes or take photographs. So do come and join us, it really is great fun and there is always help and advice for newcomers who will be made very welcome.
Entries by Friday 20 March to any committee member, Londis Post Office Stores or Stanleys Stores Chipperfield. Exhibits can be bought to the Village Hall between 10am-12noon on the day of the show. Judging then takes place and the doors reopen at 2.30pm – time to see how well you did in your class and have a well deserved cup of tea and a delicious piece of home made cake. Prize giving is at 3.30pm followed by a raffle and an auction.
