News From Hospice Of St. Francis

20th of February 2009 - comments

2009 is set to be another busy year for the Hospice of St Francis in Berkhamsted as they celebrate their 30th anniversary. There will be a number of special events held during the year to mark the anniversary but here are just some of the fundraising events planned over the next few months:
The biggest fundraising event, Walk with the Stars takes place on Saturday 20 June.
This pink-themed, ladies-only midnight walk is the most important fundraising event in the hospice calendar and there will be an official launch in Hemel Hempstead later this month. More than 1,300 ladies put their best foot forward last year to raise a staggering £200,000 in just one night. The 2009 event promises to be bigger and better. Heart 96.7fm breakfast presenter Babs Michel is already in training to spur on the walkers and for those who want to take part but who aren’t quite up to the 12 mile challenge, theres a new 6 mile route. Priority registration is now open at www.wits.org.uk
Berkhamsted Half Marathon will be run on Sunday 1 March. Contact Fran Martin on 01442 869555 or visit www.therunningbug.co.uk and search for Berkhamsted Half Marathon‚.
The Ashridge Garden Party will be held on Sunday 31 May at Ashridge Management College. This is a fun-filled afternoon for all the family with live music, Pimms, cream teas, cakes, retail stalls, childrens activities, treasure hunt, bouncy castle, face painting and lots more. £5 per entrance per adult; children free.
Launch of new website at www.stfrancis.org.uk. This updated version is designed to be particularly easy to use to find out what is going on at the Hospice. Users will also be able to sign up to receive the quarterly newsletter by e-mail, as well as accessing information about our care, sources of information and support, and fundraising events.
