Baptist Church News
A Happy New Year to you all! It’s been a busy time for us all through December, with our Christmas Tree Festival in full swing. The children from St. Pauls school paid us a visit, and our pastor Jason explained the different aspects of the Christmas Story to them, as depicted in the decorated trees. Our many visitors enjoyed the displays, as well as the refreshments and mince pies!
The annual Christingle service was held in our church on Dec 14th and the church was filled with families. Christingle oranges were distributed to everyone and no-one was burnt by lighted candles! Later that day, the Chiltern West Gallery Quire came for their annual visit, and their singing was a delight to our ears as usual. A splendid tea was consumed afterwards, provided by generous friends.
Our Family Carol service was well attended and Ken &Co played the music on various instruments to accompany us. We enjoyed mince pies and a welcome cup of tea afterwards. It was great to celebrate the birth of our Saviour on Christmas morning and some folk had brought presents they had received to show us.
Now we are entering a new year we are going to begin a morning family service on the 4th Sunday of the month to encourage young families to come. You will be very welcome.
