News From St Paul’s School

1st of November 2008

We welcomed Miss Hollie Franklin to teach Year 2 in September and hope that she will be very happy with us. The children in her class think that she is fantastic and they are busy learning lots of new things. We also welcomed many more new children and their families into the school community this term and had a new parents’ coffee morning to get to know each other. Mrs Stray commences her maternity leave in November and we look forward to hearing news about the birth of her baby in early December.
Our Year 6 children became radio reporters for a week and broadcast live from the playground on BBC Three Counties Radio on 3 October. They did us proud and helped put Chipperfield on the map!
We made a display for the church flower festival and enjoyed seeing the church looking so beautiful. We celebrated our harvest assembly in church on 6 October. The children then took perishable items to village residents and we donated our non perishable items to the church to be distributed to the Watford New Hope Trust.
We have started an Eco Schools committee to look at ways of how we can reduce our negative impact on the environment. The children have lots of good ideas and we look forward to implementing them over the next few months.
We had all of our old toilets completely refurbished during the summer break and are very proud of our new ones which we hope will last for many years!
