Great Start To The Football Season

1st of November 2008

Last season Chipperfield Corinthians Football Club missed out on promotion again by only three points. This season they hoped for a good start to launch this year’s challenge. The club haven’t had a good start – but a great start. By the end of September they had won seven and drawn one and were sitting at the top of the table, six points clear of second place Sarratt.
Not only have the results been good but the football played has been good as shown to around 50 spectators for each home game. This season the club has been invited into the St Mary’s Cup, the most prestigious cup in West Herts played by the most senior amateur clubs in the area. Chipperfield are away to Tring Athletic and the game will be played on a Tuesday evening in November.
This season the club has moved back to a new red and white kit thanks to the First Team sponsors Joywheel, CJ Wren. A picture of the first team can be found on the Chipperfield Village Website under Senior Football. However the Reserve Team is looking for a sponsor so if any one is interested? Also the Club is looking for new sponsors to put an advertising board around the pitch.
The club only survives on member subscriptions, Parish grants, sponsorship and fundraising. The club is to run a 100 club for £1 a month to enter. This was a successful fundraiser many years ago. If interested, please contact Stephen Hall.
The club has good links with the Junior club with several players playing for the senior side. This season we are sharing their training session at Parmiters school and all are welcome to join. This is on Wednesday evenings 8-9pm.
If you wish to contact the club then either call Stephen Hall on 01923 253803 or email him at
