The pre-season training for Chipperfield Corinthians started on Wednesday 13 July at 7.30pm at Queen Street followed by friendly games in August against Berkhamsted Town, Leverstock Green and Kings Langley.
Chipperfield Corinthians are hoping for a better season than last year. A poor run in the league up to Christmas saw Chipperfield without a league win in eleven games and in the relegation zone. Improved performances from January gave us enough points to finish fourth from bottom. Unfortunately local rivals Bovingdon were relegated. The Reserves fared a lot better and challenged for promotion but missed out over the last six games.
Funding for the club is always an issue and we are grateful to our main sponsor Joywheel Ltd, for grants from the Parish Council and donations from members and other sponsors. Last season we had to upgrade the ground to meet new Herts Senior County League standards and this season we have a major expense in recovering the clubhouse roof and replacing the showers.
The new season started on Saturday 20 August with an away game against Buntingford Town , with the first home game on Monday 22 August against local rivals Bedmond.
