Under current proposals, Bovingdon Fire Station will close on 1 April 2006.
Over the years, the team at Bovingdon have provided a fire and rescue service to local villages, including Chipperfield. As well as operational duties, the crew give talks to local schools and other groups, and the members of the fire service feel that this continuous programme of fire safety awareness has resulted in ZERO fire deaths in our local area.
We understand that Dacorum Council has called a special meeting on September 22 to discuss this proposed closure and other service cuts.
