Saints And Sausages Party

2nd of December 2003

On Friday 31 October St Paul’s Church ran an `alternative’ event to Halloween, our `Saints and Sausages’ party. We had not run anything like this before and therefore had no idea how many children might attend or how enjoyable it would be.
We needn’t have wondered, or worried! Thirty-nine children attended the party. which was held in the Parish Room, and a good time was had by all (including the helpers). ‘T’here were games, craft. sausage and mash and `goody hags’ to go home with. Best of all, we had engaged the services of a Christian mime artist, Steve Murray. Steve had travelled all the way from Manchester to be with us, but it was well worth the trip; his performances were enjoyed by both the children, helpers and some of the parents alike.
Tickets to the party cost just £( and all of the ticket money will be donated to the Chipperfield Youth Club. I would like to take this opportunity to thank everybody who helped run the event; without their help and enthusiasm, the party would have been impossible to run. Although we were exhausted afterwards, we may be tempted to repeat the exercise next year!
