Farewell To Peter And Mary Fox

2nd of December 2003

This month Chipperfield will be saying farewell to Peter and Mary Fox. They moved from Croxley Green into The Briars in Croft Lane 18 years ago and since then have played a most active part in village life.
Both have made a major contribution to St Paul’s Church, where Peter has served both as Treasurer and Churchwarden and where Mary was very much involved in the re¬≠establishment of the Mothers Union and the running of the regular monthly service for mothers and toddlers. They both helped couples getting married with Marriage Preparation Classes. Mary is a highly skilled flower arranger and organised last year’s wonderful Flower Festival at St Paul’s.
Outside the Church, the Foxes will be missed by many others. These include all those served by Chipperfield Care, for which they have both been loyal members since it was formed, the Chipperfield Choral Society, where Mary sang, and by those in the village with relatives or friends being cared for at Croxley House, which Peter continued to serve in many ways after they had moved away from Croxley Green.
We wish both Peter and Mary well as they move down to Devon to be near their family and thank them for all they have done in their time in the village. David Nobbs
