It has been some time since Chipperfield News published a list of local clubs and societies, and our information is likely to be sadly out of date. We would be very grateful if the secretaries of such organisations could let us have a current contact name and telephone number so that we are able to produce a list with as few inaccuracies as possible!

Dacorum Borough Council announce that with effect from 1 April 1998, certain small businesses in certain rural areas, including Chipperfield, may be eligible for up to 100% rate relief.
Relief will be available for the only village store or the only post office in the qualifying parishes, where the business has a rateable value of £5000 or less, and here up to 50% can be claimed. Other small businesses which the Council consider to be beneficial to the local community may be eligible for up to 100% relief where the rate- able value of the property is £10,000 or less.
